  Is a semi-autobiographical novel by D. H. Lawrence, published  in 1913. Set in a tough mining town in early twentieth-century England, the story  delves into one man's longing to break out of his circumstances and achieve success,  especially as a painter. The novel explores the themes of love, desire, and the  emotional conflicts experienced by the novel's protagonist, Paul Morel, and the  stifling influence of his mother, Gertrude Morel. The main characters are  characterized by psychological complexity and remarkable emotional development.  Paul Morel suffers from a complicated relationship with his mother, Gertrude, and  this relationship greatly affects his life and his emotional relationships. The novel  deals with Paul's development from his difficult childhood in an environment  dependent on working in the mines to his maturity and his dealings with love and  emotions. Gertrude Morel, Paul's mother, is a complex character who oscillates  between her deep love for her son and her desire to control his life. Her character develops over the course of the novel, and becomes a central focus of her influences  on Paul and her relationships.

The Great Gatsby

   Is a classic novel written by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald  and published in 1925. The story revolves around Jay Gatsby, a mysterious and  wealthy person living in 1920s Long Island, who strives to win back his old love,  Daisy Buchanan. The novel tells Gatsby's story through the eyes of Nick Carraway,  who becomes Gatsby's neighbor and friend. The novel deals with themes such as the  American dream, ambition, love, vanity, and failure. At the end of the novel, Jay  Gatsby fails to win back his old love Daisy Buchanan. His fate ends tragically at the  hands of George Wilson, Myrtle Wilson's husband who believed that Gatsby was the  one who ran over his wife with the car. George kills Gatsby and then commits  suicide. This ending is considered tragic and expresses the failure of dreams and  ambitions in the face of harsh reality.
